Manuel Poitras

Associate Research Scholar & C3 Research & Program Associate

Manuel Poitras has been an Associate Research Scholar at the Center since June 2013. Manuel's work at the Center focuses on research, strategic planning and program development for the Creating Connections Consortium (C3). In this position, Manuel contributes to the building of the collaborative networks, knowledge base, and practices for C3 and the Center to become a hub where higher education institutions with a mission to contribute to social change can gather to learn, exchange and collaborate towards achieving full participation on their respective campuses.

Before joining C3 and the Center, Manuel's professional pathway included working as a policy analyst on higher education issues in the federal government of Canada, conducting research and teaching on issues of international development and political economy at York University, the University of Ottawa, and UAM-Azcapotzalco in Mexico City, and community development and volunteer work in war-torn Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Pakistan. Manuel holds a PhD in Political Science from York University.
